For me it was:
Kaitlyn for Caitlin. I like Caitlin better.
Mikayla for Michaela. I don't have a favorite spelling because they all look weird.
Katherine for Catherine. I think Ks are prettier.
Miya for Maya. I prefer Maya.
Jaiden for Jaden. I prefer Jaiden. I like AIs over As.
Kadence for Cadence. I actually prefer Cadence because I like musical names. If it supposed to be musical, it should retain its spelling.

Oh yeah I met Kaitlyns, Katelyns, and Kaitlins before I ever met a Caitlin.
I've never seen Miya for Maya (I'd also pronounce Miya like Mia) but I think I saw Maia first.
The first bray-den I ever met was a Braiden and I thought that was more common.

I think I saw every variation (Maya, Maia, Mya) at my elementary school, haha. I don't think I had a concept of which was the default spelling.
I think I would've said Katelyn was the original spelling when I was younger.
