My birth name is Sean and I discovered this website through my lifelong challenge of trying to change it lol. Sean is good in the sense that everyone knows it when you say it but that ease is irrelevant because the guaranteed followup question every time is "S-H or S-E?". Plus I feel like everyone knows at least 10 Seans and there are no significantly dope fictional or real life figures that have that name so I feel like it has no powerful connotations, it's just meh in my opinion. The only Seans that come to mind for me are Sean Connery and Diddy's clothing brand Sean John. Just my two cents of course, since I've never met another Sean who hated their name as much as I do haha.
I like Shawn. It seems like the most logical spelling to me. The Sean spelling doesn't make sense to me. Shaun does make sense to me, but the w seems a bit more logical. Maybe I just watched too much Boy Meets World growing up.
Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I much prefer Shawn. In order of preference: Shawn
Shaun
Sean (I know this is the most common spelling and the one most seem to prefer-not just on here, but everywhere, but I far prefer the other two simply because of their appearance.
Sean is the only version I'd ever consider. I wouldn't use it - John is a family name if I needed one - but I certainly wouldn't dumb it down.
I like the name and Sean the best, 2nd shaun
Sean, even though it makes me think Seen. I think it's a good name.
Sean followed by Shaun. The W spelling doesn't make the cut.
