I think it could just become someone's name without tying them to the emotion, forever. I can see a regular person named Joy who goes through bouts of depression/anxiety, and no one holding them to their name. People don't really do that. As far the emotion itself goes, I don't think it's overrated in general, but I think it has a slightly religious tinge that I have never felt comfortable with, personally. If you feel moments of joy, great, but it's not something you have to seek out. Either it happens, or it doesn't, and that's fine. There are many, MANY other positive emotions to feel. Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
