[Opinions] Besides Adolf, what name do you think has been ruined permanently?
I mean personal associations are one thing. But I mean over-the-top wrong in any sense.

I don't think so. In my country we give a name Vladimir and Josef - an association with Vladimir Putin and Josef Stalin.
Another famous bearer of Adolf:
Adolf Noreen, a linguist
Adolf Oberländer, a caricaturist
Adolf Opálka, anti-Nazi fighter, a pilot RAF
Adolf Pilch, a resistance fighter
Adolf Pinner, German chemist
Adolf Born, an artist and filmmaker
Adolf Däns, a theologist
..... and many more.

Other possible examples that might fall out of use are Benjamin among people boycotting Israel and Jeffrey because of Epstein.
Hm, I think Benjamin might be too established of a name to fall out of popularity. However, Jeffrey has already fallen out of popularity, and Epstein will probably keep it that way.
Benito. I see Giorgia falling out of use in Italy because of the, uhm , controversial current prime minister.
For a name to fall out of use it needs to be somewhat uncommon, I think this is why Joseph remained in use in spite of Stalin and Goebbels but Adolf didn’t.

Andrew is a name I think might be ruined forever in the future, due to associations with Elizabeth II's second son Andrew, Duke of York, who is known for his connections to Jeffrey Epstein (and he is known to be on the Epstein list), as well as controversial internet personality Andrew Tate, who is infamous for his misogynic views.
Also, about Vladimir, I think he will remain popular in the Slavic nations. Still, its reputation will be forever destroyed in the West by Putin especially if the current invasion of Ukraine evolves into a full World War (which I doubt).

Why Greta?
My guess is Greta Thunberg.
I don’t see how she would ruin it.
Permanently, as in, can never be used even in the far future?
All the names I'm thinking of might be possible in the far future. Hopefully by then, the associations will seem trite.
Adolf is ruined in the west because no one will ever recover from Hitler's tyranny and mass murder. I agree with a previous user that Vladimir might become ruined, too - but only in countries that were actually concerned.
Lolita, Gay, Gaylord, Jemima, and Dick, and Fanny might be able to resurface if people considerably "mature" along with the technology they'll be using. I'm hoping that with all of this science stuff, people will care more about the individuals with these names than the actual names.

I’m so out of the loop… what’s wrong with Dora?
Dora the explorer, not like shes bad or anything but it just kinda puts me off it.
Aside from the ones already listed in posts below:
Rudolph / Rudolf
Hermione

Joffrey: Yes, I’m a Game Of Thrones fan.
Hillary, Monica, Donald: You will be thought of as making a political statement.
Karen: the memes.
Actually I don’t think that any of these names will be ruined permanently. 100 years down the road people may have forgotten about the Clinton scandal, Donald Trump, the Karen memes, and GOT. Even though naming a child Vladimir now might not be a good idea with the war in Ukraine I don’t think the name is going to be forever associated with the dictator as is Adolph with Hitler. Joseph is not forever associated with Stalin and remains a popular name.

Isis, although you never know. It was pretty rude of ISIS to ruin that name for everyone.
I don't think names like Donald and Hillary are permanently ruined at all, not like Adolf! Right now, naming a baby Donald or Hillary would certainly come across as a political statement in the U.S. 80 years from now, though, nobody is going to be all that exercised about Trump or either Clinton, any more than we're upset about, say, Warren Harding or Herbert Hoover.
In fact, naming a baby George might have been perceived as a little political during W's terms in office, but I think that association is already gone.
Edit: Nixon is well within the top 1000 U.S. names for boys, which seems bonkers, but it just goes to show you.

Unfortunately Franco, a name I love, but also associated with the Spanish dictator
The ones that come to mind right now are Donald, Dick, Gaylord and Hillary.
Vladimir might become one in the future.
Gaylord, I bet.
Donald might be tough these days.
Statistically, the names Hillary and Monica are considered “poisoned” due to their associations with the Clintons.

Dick…I genuinely pity any man with this name :(
