I dislike Shelley. I think Shelby is okay.

Shelley is a really pretty name, though I'd prefer it as a nickname for Michelle.

Shelley's more fun; Shelby's a bit too dated for my liking.

I'd go with Shelley, for Mary Shelley! Shelby is nice too, but in general I'm more into Frankenstein than Steel Magnolias.

I think Shelley could be pretty cute, for real. It would be so unexpected to meet a baby Shelley these days.

I like the sound of Shelby. Shelley's a little dated, and to me it sounds a bit like a toddler nicknaming a shell they found on the beach.

I would choose the Shelby.
