Annie and Atlanta adopted a son five years ago. He has recently turned eight. Since he was not fond of his first name and associated it with his less-than-stellar early childhood, they have allowed him to pick a new name, and added a Faroese and Mongolian name to honour their heritage. Adélie - though she is off doing her PhD in coral reef conservation - is very fond of her new adopted brother.
