It's okay, but not great

Both associated with a planet but I don't think it's a Roman goddess for me. It's okay but I won't used for a child.

It seems too flashy but Williams is a good namesake. I prefer that association over the goddess or the planet.

I've met a few women named Venus, plus there is Venus Williams. It's not my style but it's a good name. Better than Persephone which seams to be popping up everywhere - and more usable than Aphrodite.

Don't like it as a name

Among the gods, a very ambitious name. Among humans, a wonderful tennis player. Either way, I wouldn't use it. And some people find it unusable because it rhymes with penis, which could well be a problem at certain ages.
