I've always really liked it. It seems strangely humble for a gemstone name.
It's a nice name. I find it ruggedly handsome and gives off old-fashion rustic vibes.
A cousin of mine and his girlfriend had a baby boy back in early October (her 2nd, his 6th) and named him Jasper. It surprised me, but in a good way since it isn't a name you hear often. Rather refreshing. 🙂
Love Jasper. It's aggressively cute, but it also seems wise, and it seems very earthy because it makes me think of the stone. I'd 100% use it for a pet (any pet, cat, dog, bunny, it all works and is all adorable) and theoretical name combos, IRL I'm not sure because my mental image of it is very cute and fluffy and whispy and I'm not sure I could see it on a grown adult. I think if I met an IRL grown Jasper that mental image might change. It is a very lovely name though. It's just sweet and nice and bubbly. If and when I get another pet, Jasper is on the top of the list, it just is that cute. But on a person... in real life... I can't see it. I need to meet a real life Jasper and then see how I feel.
Aw, Jasper. This is an old childhood favourite. There was a character on a show I loved with this name. I would say maybe I had a crush on him, but I was too young to think that way. He was gentle, sweet, awkward and studious, and his character very much influenced how I see this name.
I really love it, it’s been on my list for a very long time. I think it’s really friendly and sweet sounding, although it’s also a little nerdy.
I love it; especially for the namesake (the 3 wise men have always been my favorite Christmas story).Jasper from Twilight is a mark against it, but not enough to take it off my list for a son, should I have one.I like the nn Jazz for it.Edit: and the nickname Jazza

I don't like how it sounds. It makes a me picture someone who's a bully
I used to really enjoy it (finding it as a unisex name, as well), but now I think that it’s just okay.
It’s my oldest sons name, so obviously I love it. I find it arty and handsome.
a dog name
Don't really like it
It's nice on a boy. Kinda quirky on a girl. I like Jasperina for a girl too. It's the name of a category 2 cyclone currently heading for North Queensland.
