Marylou's life was quite boring, until she met DH. They met in a local private school, where Marylou showed more affinity as a greenthumb and explorer of the wilderness than as a scholar. DH, the son of an old couple of Jamaican emigrants, similarly spent a lot of time skipping school, which led to the two meeting often in suspension. They both ended up getting expelled for grafittying "Long Live The King" on the day the king of Britain passed away. After getting expelled, they both got a job at a Carribean food market managed by DH's father. After amassing enough wealth, they moved into Colorado. While DH is not a Rastafari, as evident by the pork and beef he used to serve, he was, and is, an avid smoker of the Ganja, which prompted him to start a commercial Hemp farm, also selling his own brand of hemp canvas, soap, and tea, handmade by Marylou.
