It's ok as a fn, but definitely not as a mn. Olivia is better in my opinion.

Nah. It’s what I call my youngest and he’s a boy. I love it for a boy but not really a fan of most unisex names or masculine names for girls.

I like it as a nickname on a girl but definitely not as a full name on a girl.

I'd prefer Olwen, Olympia, Olinda, Olga and Olivette as longer names.

Ollie was my great-grandmother's full name (other than her last name). It wasn't short for anything and she didn't have a middle name. If it wasn't for her though I would probably hate it. I don't like Oliver or Olive. I do like Olivia but prefer the nickname Livi or just the full name. My great-grandma didn't seem to like it much but I think it was more of how she got the name that she was upset about. When I asked her if she had a middle name she very bitterly told me she didn't even have a first name until she was 3. She said her parents never named her and just called her girl even though all her older siblings had full names and by the time she was 3 she had a younger sister with a first and middle name and her 14 year old brother said it was stupid and started calling her Ollie and her parents just said okay and went with it.

My redeeming qualities for it, beside my great-grandmother is that it would just be a nickname and can be Olivia and it sounds like a lot of other okay or nice names Ally, Molly, Holly, and Polly.

I don't even care for it on a boy. On a girl however, it's inexcusable.

I think it's cute, but versatile. It could be a five year old, or an eighty year old.

I think it's ugly for a girl and no better for a boy. I really dislike Oliver and Olivia, and Ollie itself sounds like a grubby-faced brat.
I know a female Ollie, she's in her eighties now. Her nn is Cricket. Her husband's nn was Tick though I forget what his real name was; Charles or Robert, I think.

Since it's my grandfather in law's name, would say can't see it as even slightly on on a girl.

I don't like it for male or female use. The only (nick)name that rhymes with Ollie and that I do like is Polly. All the rest: Dolly, Holly, Lolly, Molly, Nolly, Solly, Wally, I really don't enjoy at all.

There was an Olivia on a branch of my family tree: she wanted to be known as Olive instead, and was mostly called Ollie. Apparently she was a very nice person and great fun to be with. Pity about the name, though.

I don't like it for a girl
