Or, indeed, Mathilde! I prefer Matilda, nn Tilda. I had a colleague who was just Tilda, a very pleasant woman and a good teacher of high-school Maths. So that is the nn form I'd use. I wouldn't use Matty - don't like the sound, and anyway my wonderful Matilda dog, named by the rescue centre, was known to us as Matt the Mutt.

I prefer Matilda (I don't like it very much, though, because the association with Roald Dahl's book feels to obvious for me) because Tilda remainds me of "tilde", which is the spanish word for the accent mark. Also, Tilda is too childish for me, I just can't imagine a 30-40 year old woman named like this.

Definitely Matilda, Tilda feels incomplete.
I love the name Matilda! It’s very elegant and pretty. I love the nickname Tilly. Mattie is also a cute nickname. For a bit of a stretch, you could even use Millie! I’ll be honest, I’m not crazy about the name Tilda. I can appreciate the history and unique sound. I do prefer it to Hilda.
For Matilda, I’d use Matilda Corinne. For Tilda, I’d use Tilda Sarai. For a brother, I’d use Evander Wyatt. For a sister, I’d go with Cecily Miranda.
