Desmond has a barrow in the market place, Molly is a singer with the band....

And, as a name, Desmond is preferable to Molly.

Pretty sure it was tbe only time Desmond ever showed up in a song lyric, probably not so for Molly. It is my first thought always when hearing the name, though.
