Obsessed with this name - my fav for a boy - I think it's classic yet underrated (for now) and SO HANDSOME. And nn Des/Desi I don't hate it :-)

I like it. Sounds French, sophisticated, and quite rare. It's also one of boy names starting with D- that I like. Good choice.

I went to school with a Desmond and I loved his name even as a kid. His best friend’s name was Leonard, and when I was young it never occurred to me how unusual both of their names were for our age group. Otherwise it was a sea of Matthews, Michaels and Jasons.

Wow, I much have ESP or something. I was litterly just thinking about this name earlier, and about responding to a post or creating one about it. So bizzare
It has a very handsome and somewhat quirky charm about it. A classic and strong name that is overwhelmingly rare where I'm from. (Not to say that popular names are bad or anything. This just makes it seem more special. Allows it to create more character, if you will) I like it, but not enough to use it. Although I think it's a very decent name (Also makes me think of the character "Desmond Hume" from LOST), I do prefer others over it. Plus I have a cousin named Desiree, so that wouldn't work out anyway. Des and Des. lol

I like it, not love it. I like some of the associations I have with it - Desmond Tutu, for example - but I don't completely love the sound.
