[Opinions] Re: I’m bored so...
in reply to a message by Gaia
1. If you had twins today (Whatever gender you want), what would you name them?
Girls: Katharine Emma Victoria & Alexandra Elizabeth Elva Mavis (I'm trying to figure out a way to honor my mother and grandparent; Boys: Anthony Fredrick Lawrence & Stephen Matthias Gary2. Would you ever give your first name as a child’s middle name?
Yeah, actually.3. If not, what about your middle name as your son/daughters middle name as well?
Yes.4. You are forced to give your son a feminine name, and you daughter a masculine one. What are their names? (You can add a middle name)
Why am I being forced to do that?
Daughter will be Jesse; son would probably be Jamie.
5. Do you prefer names with history to it or is it completely coincidental?
Usually I love history and have often wondered about names that I don't care for but would honor people I admire from history. But something like Adolph? The history makes it completely unusable.6. Does a name not being ‘genuine’ enough bother you?
I'm not sure what this means, exactly? I don't like it when people throw random syllables together and call it a name, or used bizarre words as names.7. How do you feel about accents with names? Would you ever use a name with one? (Ex: Chloë, Renée, Anaïs.)
If that's a part of the name, I have no issue. I don't care for random throwing accents on names not requiring them. (Ex: not a fan of Chloë or Zoë, I think those are unneeded.)8. What do you think of names with different spelling from the original?
I'm kind of guessing at what this question is going for? But I think I get it.
I think Abigayle looks trashy, but love Abigail. I knew someone who named their child Alyzzabeth, instead of Elizabeth, while I dislike immensely.
However, Allison instead of Alison isn't a big deal to me.
9. Do you like nicknames for your child or even yourself? Or do you prefer the full name?
I'm fine with them when used as nicknames.10. Has the pandemic changed your taste in names?
No.11. You and your partner just chose the name for your child. You both love it and have no doubts in mind. Your entire family hates it. Do you still keep the name?
I kind of doubt that this situation would happen, but probably we would keep it.12. What is one name that’s popular you actually think deserves it’s time in the light? It can be one for a boy and one for a girl.
I kind of love the fact that the names Elijah and Eleanor are popular as they are now.13. What is one baby name tradition or trend that you don’t like? It can be anything.
None that I can think of.14. What (type) name automatically makes you (Or would make you?) lose respect for a parent?
There area a pile of names that might get an eyebrow raise from me, but losing respect? That's a little harsh based on a name. Unless they named the kid, like, AK-47 or Ice Cream or a profanity.
