[Opinions] Fatima
I just made a new acquaintance with someone named this and although I’ve heard it many times before, it just struck me how lovely it is.
What do you think?

This is the name of a public school in my area. I don't know why it's called Fatima because there's no nearby town called Fatima and nobody in that school is Arabic. So I wouldn't use it.

I've always thought the name Fatima was genuinely beautiful, and I prefer the transcription Fatima to Fatimah. The meaning makes me a bit uncomfortable - what are we abstaining from? Is this just a prettier way of saying "Chastity" - yet in the right cultural context, I think it's lovely. I am not in a position where I think it would be culturally appropriate to use it, however.
I'm in love-hate relationship with this name. I like this name because it's sounds beautiful, but I'm worried if I use it, it'll considered as a cultural appropriation (because I'm Christian).
But I know it's usage could be Catholic, as the name Fatima could be named after the Marian apparition in Fátima, Portugal.

Where I live, à Fatima is much more likely to be Portuguese or Spanish than Muslim.
