Margaret never really appealed to me save for the association with Princess Margaret. It just feels a bit boring to me as it is. I like Margaretta a bit more so long as it's a middle name. Marguerite is my favorite variant in terms of first names. For nicknames my favorites are Maggie, followed by Margaux/Margot, then Meg.
