[Opinions] Stephanie
What do you think of the name Stephanie? Do you like the nickname Steph and Stevie?
Someone at work always calls me Stephanie, she always forgets my name! I also met three elderly women named Stephanie this month (which surprised me, here I thought it was a typical 1980s name).

I don't have anything against the name. It's perfectly fine.
My biggest issue with it is the fact that it sounds dated at this point - not dated for a mature adult woman, but dated for a baby being born. The majority of women named Stephanie I know are older than I am (I'm 29).
I've never met anyone who actually used the nickname Stevie, but several who have used Steph. (I also know one who went by Fanny. So. There's that.)
As far as the elderly women - depends on what your definition is of "elderly." Stevie Nicks' given name is Stephanie, for example. The majority of Stephanies I've encountered are between their 30s and 50s.

Stephanie is one of those “dated classic” names. I kind of like but since I know a ton my age, it seems like nothing special.
Stephanie is a pretty name, with good nickname opportunities (I'm actually quite fond of Stevie). However, it's becoming quite dated for my generation (Millennials - also a lot of Gen-Xers) and will eventually be an "old lady name" because of this (anything that spikes in popularity will).
Stephania is also cool, and much less common.

I like it, and would have liked to have it myself, or give it. I guess Steph is pretty inevitable at least sometimes, but I hate Stevie; it's so butchy on a girl, and so babyish on a boy.
I think Stephanie is pretty much a classic. A friend of mine is big into genealogy, and is of Polish descent. There's a big Polish-American population in northern Delaware, and that's where his family all ended up once they came to the US. According to him, Stephanie shows up a lot in early 20th century census records for the area, there are several on both sides of his family.

I actually like Stephanie. It also reminds me of a song. (Young MA...) It think it’s a very nice name, interesting meaning and pretty cool with some nice namesakes. I can imagine Stephanie on a girl because of Stevie Nicks, I don’t really care for the nickname Stevie but it’s spunky and cute. It’s kind of like how I feel about the pronunciation of Steven on Stephen. Don’t like it. Steph is okay and naturally.
