That's very unlikely. There have been examples of names which look or sound very similar on the lists at the same time before. Paula and Paulette are both on the Atlantic hurricane name lists right now. In 1979 when the six rotating lists used now were created Frances was on the 1980 list and Fran on the 1984 list. Both have since been retired, but separately due to separate major hurricanes named Frances (2004) and Fran (1996).
