Norwegianer here!
Yngve,
Geir,
Dagfinn,
Stig and
Roger are all in their forties or older, but I've met some young Stigs! Both
Geir and
Stig are trustworthy, and
Roger is a bit of a goofball.
Dagfinn and
Yngve are kind people.
Thorvald (same as
Torvald to us) Stoltenberg is a former politician and father of former prime minister
Jens Stoltenberg. I mainly assosiate that name and
Torleif with his age group. I don't think I've ever met a Norwegian
Arthur, but it is a usable name in Norway so they surely exist! He would be older than 65, I think.
Sebastian and
Eskil are still young men or children.
Eskil is not as common, and
Sebastian kind of has a rich and arrogant vibe to it.
Maja and
Eira are very common amoung young women and teens. The Eiras are probably younger than the Majas, but they're both nice people.
Ågot is in the same category as
Torvald and
Torleif, but I think it is slowly comming back.
Karolina is rare, never met anyone. The a-ending is generally not very common, but it is gaining popularity.
Most of the people named
Caroline,
Karoline and
Kristine are in their early twenties nowadays.
Kristine is probably a bit older.
Rita and
Helle are older than 40 but younger than 70.
Klara is not very common. I assosiate it with
Klara Ku (Clarabelle Cow) and Klok ("wise", a website where teens and young adults could ask for advice about everything in life), and I imagine others may have the same assosiation with the name.
All the names are still used, but after a long time with biblical and international names, the older more Norwegian ones are gaining popularity again.
I love
Ågot and I like
Eira, but would probably use
Eir instead.
