Which are the best of the flower names? Both popular and lesser used.
I think my personal favorites are Violet, Rose, Lily, Lilac, Lavender, Jasmine, Amaryllis, Marigold, Iris, Orchid, Clover, Winika, Wisteria, Azalea, Dahlia, Lotus, Blossom, Indigo, Hyacinth, Jonquil, Chrysanthemum, Delphinium, Ianthe, Iolanthe etc.
I don't really like Daisy though it seems a little too silly on a person, but more suited to a pet. Petunia is a GP and I intend to use it on a cat or dog at some point in my life.

Violet is beautiful, I really love it.
Rose is classic, and interesting in a plain and simple way as a first name in this day and age. It's so boring as a MN though.
Lily... I really dislike.
Lilac is really lovely and a bit GP, I could never really see myself using it but it's neat.
Lavender...nah. I also hate the smell, so...
I dislike Jasmine.
Amaryllis is cool and a bit extra, I like it.
Marigold...nah, on a pet, maybe, not a kid.
Iris is beautiful, love it.
Orchid is neat, don't think it's very useable though.
Never heard of Winika, not a fan, it makes me think of wrinkles.
Wisteria is very unique, but I just don't like it.
Azalea is...okayish.
Dahlia is classy, dressed in high-necked black, WASPish. It's an aesthetic.
Lotus is cool but makes me think of brand names.
Blossom is a pet or cow name, or a pet-name, not a name. A little bit cringe as a given name.
Indigo...not a fan. These days it's either self-aware hipster or chronically un-self-aware.
Hyacinth is unattractive and dated.
Sorry, I think Jonquil looks and sounds ugly. Every so often I try to make myself like Jonquil and ultimately have to accept I really do not like it at all.
Chrysanthemum is clunky, weird and neat. I have a couple of family members/ancestors who used it as a name, one as a literal translation of her name, one as the nearest English translation based on generic meaning / sound, and one who was born named Chrysanthemum in honour of one of the former two and goes by Chrys. It's almost a family name at this point, and it's so rare in the UK that people do comment on the fact that I have 3+ Chrysanthemums in my family, or even just one. I would totally use it as a MN.
Delphinium is cool but doesn't sound like a person name.
I love Ianthe, Iolanthe, very pretty.
I also like Ivy, Anemone, Celandine, Laurel.

I also like Linnéa, Nevena, Rosemary, Sóley, Astra, Camellia, Eirlys, Iola,
Kamilla (this is also the Hungarian word for the chamomile flower),
Kielo (mostly because of its lovely meaning: lily of the valley).
And Anthea, Fleur and Flora, if they count.

From my favourite to least favourite at this moment in time:
Lily — I adore this name. A favourite. So elegant and sweet, fits all ages. I like Lillian and Liliana but not as much as Lily.
Violet — I love this too, so beautiful and soft sounding. Not Violetta though — too frilly.
Rose — Also love this, short and sweet and you can almost smell the fragrance of rose petals in it. I like versions such as Rosa, Rosalind, Rosalie, etc.
Jasmine — Love the elegance, another one where you can almost smell the fragrance of the flower, plus the nickname Jazz or Jazzy is an added bonus.
Daisy — I also love this, I don't think it sounds childish at all. I can see the ditzy connotations but positive personal association overrides it for me. It sounds elegant, clever, and quick-witted.
Clover — Pretty. Four leaf clover is a symbol of good luck. I also love Chloe (green shoot) and Clover sounds similar and is less common.
Iris — Also pretty. I don't mind the fact that it's a part of the eye — at least it's the most beautiful part — and I think of the flower more often. It's pleasing to say.
Indigo — Lovely for boys or girls, I love the nickname Indie or Indy so much. The colour is gorgeous too.
Ianthe — Greek names are usually thumbs up in my book. Flows nicely, beautiful, lovely meaning of course.
Iolanthe — Same as Ianthe, although I slightly prefer Ianthe because this has so many syllables to pronounce!

Ever since I discovered the name Calanthe always sounded so pretty so me. The meaning and flower is wonderful itself. Calanthe Maris is my favorite combo. Gorgeous.
Dahlia is also a wonderful name I would like to see used more. When I see I literally think of a dahlias in a beautiful valley.
Amaryllis is awesome all around honestly. Even the meaning is cool. It would really fit a girl who likes to go against the grain and isn’t afraid to be different. Those are the vibes Amaryllis gives me.

Rose is slightly overused. But so classy, glamorous, and beautiful as a first name. It’s just so sweet and romantic without being too sweet and romantic.
Calytrix is definitely a name I would like to see used on somebody someday. It gives me visuals of a warrior Princess. It’s almost TOO cool for a child.
Blossom reminds me of the 90s show and Powerpuff girls. It’s cool honestly, but probably best suited as a middle name. Aster is cool as well. But I only like it for a girl. I don’t even see it as unisex and I don’t see how one can. Marigold is beautiful and so is the flower.

Blossom I get, it is a bit ridiculous, but pray tell why Iris? Because of the part of the eye perhaps?
