I like both of them. But then I like a lot of names from India, even as an English speaker.

Why is your comment on both names essentially, "I've known someone with this name but cannot believe it's a name?" what is unbelievable about it? I like the sound of Karthika, but it's from a different Indian Language than my husbands family speaks, so it'd be odd to use. Shivani doesn't appeal to me as much as Parvati, they are names of the same goddess.

Because…Both names aren’t the most common, and I have a lot of friends in India in my class, and I searched up all their names and they aren’t found.
