A recent addition to my PNL but a name I’ve been fond of for years. What do you think of Pia?

It's fine. I live in Germany right now and Pia is quite common for girls born in the 90s. Pronounced PEE-a.
I dislike the PEE sound that also bothers me in Penelope. But it is still fine overall. I like it on someone else.
It feels more grown up and serious than Mia.
I like it better than many other -ia names.

Ugly, boring and dated. Two of my mom's close friends are named Pia - it's a common name in their generation. It's also a name I've never liked, I think it both sounds and looks ugly.

I know of a preschool Pia, who is one of triplets! Can't recall the other names, but they all had family links. Which is fine, but I find it very abrupt and also very Catholic: keep looking around for the missing Maria ...

I adore Pia! It’s gentle but not meek. It’s easily my favorite short “-ia” name.

I’m not too worried about teasing for any names. Everyone gets teased for their names when they’re children, even Sarah’s and Katherine’s. :)
