[Opinions] Elinor and Eleanor
1. Thoughts on the name?
2. Do you prefer Eleanor or Elinor and why?
3. How common do you think it will get in the US?
4. If you are in the UK where it peaked around late90s/early00s - does it feel dated or bland?

Don't like it
I really like both Eleanor and Elinor and I don't think I could say which one is better in my opinion, they are both great but each has a slightly different vibe. I guess I slightly prefer The Scandinavian Ellinor over Elinor, because I came across it before Elinor so Elinor feels a little incomplete in comparison but it's not a huge drawback.
I don't see either of them as bland or dated, just classic. I also love how they can have a lot of nicknames and potentially fit different kinds of personalities.

For years, I thought it was a family name on both sides; but it turns out that all my Nellie aunts etc were actually named Nellie and not Eleanor, Helen or anything else.
I prefer the look of Elinor, but I think Eleanor would be less trouble.
No clue about US thought processes.
And it didn't particularly peak in South Africa where I live either.

Don't like either
I like Eleanor, I don’t like Elinor at all.
I like Eleanor better, it seems, idk, more complete? Though the variant of the name I prefer / would use is Eleonora. Alienor is lovely too.
1. I like it a lot, though I like some variants or diminutives even more (Lenore, Nora)
2. I find Elinor more aesthetically pleasing, however I can't help but think it would be more of a hassle as everyone would expect Eleanor.
3. I couldn't put a number on it, but it's definitely got a lot of features I think will keep it pretty popular

It's a lovely name.
I prefer Eleanor. There's something pinched and nasal about Elinor.
I think it will get quite common in the US.
