[Opinions] Naoise
I came across a woman recently with the name Naoise, pronounced Neesha. I'd not heard of it before. I rather like it.
What do you think? Does it sound masculine, feminine, or neutral to you?

It does sound feminine to me, but it can work on any gender. I think it's pretty.

It only works in Ireland or places with a lot of people who know the Irish language well. I sure wouldn't have guessed how to say it without looking it up if you hadn't told us.
It just looks like mistyped "noise" to me. The Neesha pronunciation doesn't even make me think "Irish." It's so similar to names that were popular for black girls in the seventies and eighties like Keisha and Tanisha and Felicia. Neesha is an attractive sound, I guess, but all the messy middle steps involved just don't work.

I knew a woman of Indian descent named Nisha. Naoise, visually, makes me think of “noise.”

If I would not know it's masculine than I would probably say rather feminine. But I love it on a boy!

Oh, this name is on my Nonbinary list because I thought it would make a great female name, even though it is male! I really like it. It's too bad the meaning isn't known. I like that it looks so close to the word "Noise" :)
