It sounds very fantasy character or YA protagonist. Magical and inoffensive, shiny but without much personality.

I'd probably be thrilled to meet an Emrys irl.

I really like it. It has a mythological association without being as overtly nerdy as Merlin. The meaning is cool.

Peter Emrys is a name that I would consider using and frequently makes my top ten.
