This one appears to be another of those strange early 20th-century girl names, along the lines of Unity and Novella mentioned in recent posts.
I think I like it?
What do you all think.
My PNLs = http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/37275

I like it.
Has Puritan vibes or too many babies were lost and didn't want to keep using the same name and gave the one that lived, "Memory" as a name vibe. It's unexpected.

I once had a waitress at IHOP named Memory! We were all blown away by it, much to her amusement! But besides that, I think it'[s as pretentious as all get out. Why not a name whose meaning has something to do with memory?
ETA: also, it sounds wayyyyyyy too close to "mammary"...

It may be a Puritan virtue name along the lines of Remember and Mourning. I looked up Memory as a first name on findagrave.com and it looks like it's been used pretty equally as a boy and girl name. Has a pretty sound actually
I actually knew a man named Memory, he was in his 80s and went by "Mem"
I quite like it, definitely a GP

I kinda like it too, in a bleak post-apocalyptic way. It has a pretty sound to it, and makes me feel nostalgia for a time and place I can't determine.
I think I really like it, actually. The Mory part seems so cozy.

Meh...I mean...it is cool. It's certainly unique.
I don’t really like it. To me at least it’s kinda like naming your kid Photo, or Polaroid. Just, meh. It also reminds me of a song called Midnight Memories.
I just smiled! That song is by One Direction, and I actually happen to love it!
I know! I was hoping somebody would know the song, lol. Glad I made you smile.
