[Facts] name pronounciation
I would like to name my new daughter LEE-YA (phonetically spelled). How would I spell that name correctly? Possibilities Leah, Leigha. I don't want her name confused with LAY-YA (phonetically spelled).

If you don't like Lia, Leah, or Leigha, there's also Liya.Array

Looking at the examples you've given do really mean you want a name prn lee-uh? lee-uh would rhyme with "see a" as in I see a dog while lee-yuh would rhyme with "see ya" as in "see ya later." If it's lee-uh you're looking for I would agree with Chrisell. Leah is the most common spelling I see and is easily recognizeable by most people. Lia is common too.

Leah, Lea or Lia are the usual spellings. Leigha would also be pronounced that way, although it has a different origin to the others (it's a variation of Leigh). Click on the hyperlinks for details
