[Opinions] Troy...
...for a girl.
Does it work, or do you hate it?

I don't mind it. I used to work with a woman named Troy actually, she was really nice.
I've been called Troy by mistake before, also Tony.
I haven't known more male Troys than I have male Torys.
It sounds like Joy about as much as it does Roy.
It's just another place/surname type name to me...better as feminine than Paris, imo.
I think it works fine.
I like Tro more, though.

I hate it. Sorry.
To me, Troy is the name of the city in the Illiad. It’s not a human name and if it is, it’s strictly male.

Im usually one to love masc names on girls but I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here not a fan.
It gives me the same vibe as Toni and I hate that.

For a girl? Hate it. Ew. Come on, there's no need to scrape the bottom of the barrel to name a girl like this.
I don’t like it on a boy, and I don’t like it on a girl.
I’ve been trying my hardest recently to like masculine names on girls, but it’s just not working.

Hate it for a girl
Troi
That's all "Troy for a girl" can ever be imo.
The Counselor.
I'd get used to it. But I don't like it.
Trey for a girl seems more likely because it just means third.
After thinking about it some more - I'm trying not to hate it - I thought of Helen of Troy. I think that'd be a kinda lame inspiration for naming a girl Troy, though. Troia, called Troy - maybe? It's very "Iliad" ... nms

I remember dimly reading a book as a kid that had two sisters named Tabitha and Troy. So I suppose it's been done a time or two in real life.
But I don't like it. It's not unisex.
Actually I don't like it for a boy either, it doesn't roll off the tongue very easily. Neither do Rory and Roy, now I think of it.
I do kind of like Trey.

Strongly dislike Troy for a boy, much less for a girl, sorry. :0/
