I love Ophelia. However, I wouldn't use it due to a personal association.

I love it. It’s not completely obvious, but if you listen closely it’s there.

I like it. I had to think about what you meant. Took me a minute. But maybe I'm just obtuse. I don't much care for any nickname I can think of.

I don't think so at all, it's a lovely name. The name Cordelia for instance is beautiful but is a little bit starchy and severe. Whereas Ophelia sounds a little bit softer and more gentle and comparison. I think it's possible someone could think of something just because kids are cruel but honestly kids can do that with just about any name if they try hard enough. Just make sure to establish a firm nickname from the get-go, I've heard of "Phee" being a popular one at the moment, and you should be good.
