Hey your name is an ATLA name too!!!
(Not compared to mine. Another poster who was formerly Azula.)
I think Griffin is funny, dorky, and unattractive, and maybe better than Gryphon.

I've never liked it, sorry. I've known a couple of Griffins and they've been fine as people so it's not that. I just dislike the look and sound of it, it also doesn't seem very namey to me.
I like it. Not quite enough to use, but it has spent some time on my favorites. I'm distantly acquainted with a teenage boy named Griffin.
It's actually a pretty classic usage, and it's a surname so it fits in now ... but also pretty well known as the creature and heraldic thing, so has a nice geeky glow. Funny how the vibe is more medieval-geek than mythological-geek. To me anyway. Gryphon seems more mythological and I don't like it as much because it screams "fantastic creature" / "World of Warcraft" to me, and gets no cover from being a surname name. Gryffin strikes me as a one-person kind of name and so I searched on it, and it's the mononym used by a DJ/producer. I'd never heard of him, but, yeah. I think the Y just makes it too complicated, as a baby name.

Gryphon is medieval rather than creative, but it is more complicated than it needs to be.
I prefer Griffith.
I prefer Griffith.
Not really fussed
I don’t hate it. Griff is not a strong nickname, but depends on the rest of the name I guess.
