I don't think it means moon; Lucy/Lucia/Lucille mean "light" and Lucine is from the same root. Selene does mean moon, you may have gotten them mixed up?
The only lucy type name I like is Lucia, though Lucille is also okay. Lucine sounds chemically with that "cine" ending. Like Lucite or lutein.

It’s a variant of Lusine, which comes from Armenian lusin (լուսին) meaning “moon” or “the moon”, not “light.” :)
