I prefer Chrysanthe. Chrysanthemum seems too much.

I think it is too much. Have you read the children's book Chrysanthemum? It's about a little girl who gets made fun of for being named Chrysanthemum until her teacher says she loves it so much and names her baby it. Then all the little girls in her class want long, fancy flower names. I think the logical nickname would be Chrys / Chris / Chryssy / Chrissy

Chrysanthemum is far too botanical. I prefer Chrysanthe.

There are many better ways of achieving a daughter known as Chris, or Chrys. Chrysanthemum is long, it is clumsy and clunky, it ends in Mum ... If you don't like Chris, what about Anthea? I think it's a vast improvement.

dont like it

It's terrible. It's a good example showing that not all flower names make good people names. It's like a joke.

Way too long. Just stick to Chrysanthe.

I don’t think it’s quite name-y enough, and it’s quite the mouthful. Plus the “mum” part makes me think of...well, mothers. I like Chrysanthe a lot better.Nell Chrysanthemum / Chrysanthemum Nell

Ooh I like Chrysanthe. Would the "E" at the end be silent or not in that case?

The -e at the end would be pronounced like most Greek names ending in -e are that I’ve seen, like a long EE.So it would be kris-AN-thee. Chrysanthi is another “legitimate” spelling for it. :)

My friend is planning on naming her daughter this. I think she's planning on using the nickname Chris. While I think it's a bit much it isn't any more out there than other names I've heard.

My aunt is considering Chrysanthemum "Chrissy" Jane for my cousin, so I don't think it is that out there! Suggestions:Chrysanthemum Kate
Chrysanthemum Grace
Chrysanthemum Eve
Chrysanthemum Lynn
Chrysanthemum Ruth
