[Opinions] Re: Gemma
Ok, so I don't know anyone named Gemma so I might be talking out of my ass, but I have read an awful lot of British chick lit. That reading material has given me the feeling that Gemma is kind of dated 80s there like Ashley is here. I'm also not big on the Gem part. It makes the name feel flashy and the G beginning takes away the softness that Emma has.

I'd say you are spot on with how Gemma is viewed in the UK. It was very trendy in the 80s. I know several.
