[Opinions] Reagan

I don't like it for a girl
And Regan, the little girl from the Exorcist.
I think it's an unattractive sound. I just don't like the gan sound; don't like Morgan or Logan or Teagan or Megan.

Not a fan. We actually have a close relative who named her now toddler Reagan. Boy, did I have to do some acting when she first told us the name they'd chosen. I like it marginally better since I've come to know and love the little girl. But I'm still not keen.

I don't like it. One of my close friends is a creative spelling of Reagan, and she is fabulous, but the name. No. Yuck.
I really dislike the sound of this name.
Yeah, it's too Ronnie.
Also it sounds like ray gun! Zap!
Ree-gan is not so bad - in my mind, it's spelled Regan - and it kinda vexes me that people ever read Regan as "ray gun." I think it can't be because of Megan, because Reagan isn't Reg- like Meg, and Megan isn't May-gun either, at least not any that I've ever met. Whatever, if I liked Regan more it'd bug me, but I can live without it.

Interesting. Reagan rhymes with Megan (all spellings) around here. The second syllable of both rhymes more with pin than gun.
Hm!
Well, it's more g'n than gun since it's an unstressed syllable. But not ghin.
Do you say May-g'n and Ray-g'n, or Meg'n and Reg'n? Or Meeg / Reeg?
I've heard both Meg'n and May-g'n, usually Meg'n. But for Reagan, I've only heard Ray-g'n - Rayg like in fragrance - never Reg'n like in regular.

Agreed
Ditto
Pretty much.
I dislike it strongly on the grounds of sound, and then the president makes it just illegal lol
Same, on all points (Reagan's presidency was before my time as well). Both my parents thought he was an awful person, and as such, I won't use the name for any future kids.
