[Opinions] Lulu?
I came across the name Lulu, and I was wondering if it’s usable in its own or only as a nickname? If as a nickname, what are some possible full names? Name combos? WDYT?

I love the name Lulu and it was one I considered when pregnant with Eden. In Arabic it means Pearl and I love that meaning and the scriptural connotations I get from Pearl. I absolutely think it works as a full name or as a nn. I’m in the minority here though, because there isn’t a lot of love for this name here, particularly as a full name. As a nn I like it for Louisa. I also think it’s fine for an adult, but most don’t agree.

Edited to add: I also know a girl named Allure who sometimes goes by Lulu.

Thanks!
School secretaries are my favourite people, and one of the best I've ever worked with was a much older Lulu. One day I asked her what it was short for, and she said that it was a stand-alone name and the only one she had: no mn at all. I found this interesting, because clearly her parents must have liked it very much: I've got no clue how old she was, but certainly not born after the 1930s. It has a Jazz Age vibe to me; I can see a Lulu in a daringly short skirt with a fringe that shows her knees when she Charlestons.
I suppose Louise could become Lulu; also any of the Lucy names - Lucia, Lucinda; Louette and Louanne and even Marylou.

NN only. The Lulus I know are Lucianna and Lucienne.
I know it is a full name, but I'd prefer to use it as a nickname for one of my all-time favorites, Louisa.
Only as a nn. Lucy, Lucille, Lucinda, lucasta, Luisa, Luella, Luellen, Luannne
I think it's really cute as a nickname, and less common as a full name. It could be short for Tallulah, Lucille/Lucy, or Luane. That said, I think it could be a good full name too.
Tallulah or Ululani
It is a full name

I think it’s adorable.
I would personally want to pair it with a much longer middle name to move away from the perception a lot of people in the west will have of it being nicknamey.
Lulu Josephine
Lulu Rebekah
Lulu Katharine / Katharina
Lulu Eleanora
Lulu Béatrix
Lulu Angelica
Lulu Philomena

It's really not appropriate as a full name. It sounds cartoonish and babyish at the same time. Even as a nn I think it's goofy.
Are there other similar-sounding names you prefer?
