Cute and I don’t hear it often at all.

This name seems a bit dated to me, though I do like the sound of it. Without meeting the person, I would assume Marlena to be a middle-aged woman, though.

It’s the -lena (lay-nuh) part of the name I find pretty. Not so much on the Mar part. How about Helena, Elena, Alaina?

It’s ok, but I prefer Marlene, in the German pronounciation.

Don't really like it

I would never pronounce Marlene as Marleen, so the -a ending doesn't seem necessary. Not a name I enjoy, so I don't much mind what people do to it. As a short form, I prefer Magda.

It feels very dated to me. I don't dislike its sound or look though.
