I like it - started to after encountering a small boy with the name. It just seemed really cool to me.
It's pretty rare for me to think a name is old and clunky, and then suddenly see it as cool, but that's what happened.
I used to think
Malcolm was one of these "stiff and cranky old guy" (imo) names like
Arthur and
Walter and
Herbert ... but then I saw it on the child and it seemed to transform into a "strong man-name that suits a rebellious youth too" - more along the lines of
Henry or
Gordon or
Oscar.
I think brothers
Malcolm and
Duncan would be cool.
