[Opinions] Linden
What do you think of the name Linden for a boy? I found someone talking about this name on another board. Some of the people there were saying that, especially with the nickname Lindy, it sounds too feminine, but I think it sounds great! By the way, my 10th grade history teacher was a guy who went by Lindy, and he was so cool!

I like both Linden and Lyndon (preferring Linden). Although I don't care for the nn Lindy (prefer Lin) I don't think it's too feminine. No one ever refers to a female Ashley with the nn Ash as having too masculine a nn.

The only Lynden I know is a guy and it suits him very well. Linden reminds me of Landon, and they both have a masculine aura to me.

ita a heck of a lot better than Lindsay for a boy. There is a columnist for the Toronto Star named Linden Barclay. I don't know any one else with the name..but I like Linden. If Lindy is too girly, I guess he could go by Denny!!

I thought it was another (feminine) form of Linda. But Lyndon is definitely boy to me.

I agree. That spelling (Lyndon) is masculine. And I like it!

I prefer Linden for a girl, but I do LOVE it. I could see it on a boy, but I've just always preferred it for a girl.

I like Linden a lot, and also the nickname Lindy. It makes me think of Lucky Lindy and the Lindy Hop. A good namesake!

Linden.. Lime tree!I like it. However, it sounds almost exactly like Lyndon here in Texas, and it'd make everyone think of L. B. Johnson.I'd call a young boy Linden or just Lind for short, and if he didn't mind being called Lindy when he was older, I'd use it. I don't think I'd stick him with the name Lindy in school...because it reminds me of a guy named Rendall I grew up with, whose mother called him Rendy.. gah. Poor kid. The name wasn't so bad, but it was different enough that the kids picked on it. - chazda

I don't often like vocabulary names on boys, but this one works. Linden was on my girls' list once, but I'm little more than neutral towards it now. It sounds fine on a boy too. I don't mind Lindy, but be honest I don't think it needs a nickname anyway. Some middle names ideas ...
