[Opinions] Re: Nadine
in reply to a message by Azula
I enjoy Nadine very much. The variant Nadia has always been more popular, it seems, but I'm still surprised I don't see Nadine used more often for the coming generation of kiddos. That said, in my Top 10 it usually makes an appearance as a middle, not a first (e.g. Miranda Nadine, Julia Nadine, Cressida Nadine, etc.).I'd say no to Catherine in this case mainly because I don't think Nadine should be paired with another name that ends in an N. (They also both actually end in -ine, but different vowel sounds, so it looks odd as well.) How about...Nadine Alexandra / Nadine Alexandria
Nadine Olivia
Nadine Orinthia
Nadine Orinoco
Nadine Adelaide
Nadine Arista
Nadine Eleanor / Nadine Elinor
Nadine Scheherazade
Nadine Sonia
Nadine Valencia
Nadine Victoria
Nadine Veronica
Nadine Zinnia

Oh my, I knew there was something off about Nadine Catherine, now that you’ve pointed out the -n and the -ine similarities I see it. I also prefer Nadine over Nadia, and I feel like it’s due for a revival. It does work well for a middle, but I’ve realized I have an affinity for middle name-esque names in the fn position. I really like Nadine Olivia. :)
