This is my nephews name, I wasn't so sure when he was first named, but now I love it. We call him Em.

Emerson- male! It’s new to my ears. I’m American. No idea if it has history, but -son I think male.
Emery nick name-eh :( first impression is female, probably because it’s similar to Emily and has the -ee -ie -y ending I associate with (most) female names.
Careful...at least in America all -son endings can turn female! Lol. Odd trend but it is what it is. All that aside, pleasant name- I like it

I like it, fine. I think it's even on my PNL, but I can't remember. I don't have any combo suggestions, aside from Emerson Patrick, which just popped into my head, thanks to St. Patrick's Day. :PI wonder if a boy could pull of the NN Emmy?

I like it for a boy. I met a little boy with the name, several years ago, and always like it.
Then I met a newborn baby girl named Emerson, and it aggravated me, because I liked it so much for a boy! Silly,I know.Anyways, I like it for a boy, hate it for a girl, and like the nn Emery.I like short middles with it.Emerson Allen
