I had a friend named
Franklin who was a nice, funny guy, but also was nerdy. He was the kind of guy that it was almost impossible for any woman to have romantic feelings for. I say "almost", because when he was about forty, after not having any romantic interests in all the years prior, he finally met a woman, an average looking woman, who evidently did have romantic feelings for him, because they got married. And then alas, after a few years of marriage, she cheated on him and wanted a divorce. I felt awful for him.
Nevertheless, his nerdiness kept him from having the variety of romantic and sexual experiences that most men do.
So the end result is that the name
Franklin seems very nerdy to me, in spite of
Franklin Roosevelt not being a nerd But to tell the truth, I think that the existence of my friend just enhanced its nerdiness, to me. I used to think it a funny coincidence that nerdy
Franklin was given a nerdy name at birth.
I really hate the nickname
Frank, and the syllable
Frank in
Franklin, too.
