I think it works well for pets or pokemon and fictional characters, but I'm strictly on the feminine side despite finding "
Perry" too masculine for my tastes.
Dot and
Dotty sound cute, but I can't help but get the "weird old lady" vibe (my uncle's ex-girlfriend)
Perry and Perri are just not cool as tomboy nicknames, unlike
Billie,
George and
Frankie. In fact, it's kinda dorky which is not the vibe I'm sure tomboy girls want to go for.
Not sure why I see it as a feminine name to be perfectly honest. I've been using it as a feminine Pokemon name for most of my life, and way before
Steven Universe existed.
