I really like it. I knew a Claudia and it suited her. It seems so light and airy but has a Shakespearean tone.

I like it quite a bit. I was surprised to see it described as pretentious and snobbish because these descriptions never would have occurred to me. I've known only one. She was in my high school class and I remember that at the time I thought her name was old-fashioned and didn't fit in. This was back when a smaller pool of names was used, though. She was a popular cheerleader. She married a guy who became a politician.

I like it! My main association is the one from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, which gives it a bit of a gothic feel along with the classical vibe.

I like it, though I'm inclined to pronounce it Cloud-ia rather than Clow-dia.

It's a rare name that I like in spite of thinking it's kind of ugly. It's tasteful, and I like that it's not popular, and although it was more popular in the past, it's never been in the top hundred. I've only known one Claudia, who was in my high school class, so she'd be in her late fifties now. I didn't personally know her, but I knew that she was an intelligent, straight A student who gained acceptance to an Ivy League college, so it's a good association.

I don't like that the first sound coincides with 'clod' in the pronunciation I've heard most often. I don't like the meaning to begin with, but that makes it more transparent. The Latin/Spanish pronunciation is more fun. Cloudia, like maybe she's walking on clouds...but also, I feel like I'm putting on airs when I say it. It reminds me of Gloria in a way.I think I've only known two Claudias ever. They were nice.I like Carys a lot.

Admittedly it sounds a bit snobbish, and kinda gothic(?) to me. But I don't hate it.

Sounds pretentious, and I don't like the meaning "lame".
