Dear Logan International Adoption Center;
Thank you very much for letting us adopt these five children! It has been six months since they all came to live in Colorado with us and we are pleased to report that they are adjusting well.
Josef, our oldest, recently celebrated his fourteenth birthday with some of his new friends. We are surprised at how well Josef accepted Marcus, as his father had been abusive. The two enjoy a fulfilling relationship. Josef is playing soccer and gets good grades.
Leah, 12, is adjusting better than we expected. At first, she was very moody and irritable, but after we established a routine she was a lot better. She is going to a regular school, but has therapy three days a week. We have found that Leah has really bonded with our horses. She loves feeding them and leading them around. Tikva, Leah's golden retriever, gets on well with our dogs and seems happy here.
Kent, 7, loves his new brothers and sisters. He especially likes having Josef as an older brother. Kent and Josef play soccer together often and even share a room. Kent plays soccer in an informal league at school.
Klara, now also 7, is gaining confidence and independence. She is still very close to Josef, but is beginning to experience the joys of life for herself. Klara and Rory became fast friends and they have tea parties and play house together often. Klara's kitten, Zbelet, is growing into a clever young cat. He likes playing in the barn and has found many hiding places in the hayloft and the attic. However, he always comes when Klara calls.
Rory, 5, just adores her older sister Klara. She also likes helping to take care of the twins and she's learning how to help Leah too. Rory likes Leah, but is a little scared of her since Leah yelled at her shortly after she came to us.
Lucy, 4, likes not being the baby anymore. She likes 'taking care' of the twins. Lucy doesn't stop talking about her new brothers and sisters, even six months after they've arrived.
Kalo and Tanya, 3, are surprisingly self-sufficient. They explored the house once or twice after they arrived and are now content to play in their bedroom, the living room, or the rec room. Kalo especially likes the toy drums we got recently. Tanya likes her harmonica better and is also playing with the keyboard. Kalo's asthma flares up once in awhile, but is generally well under control. It took some time for Kalo and Tanya to get used to all the people and animals running around our house, but they fit in with the rest of them now.
Thank you very much for sending these special children into our lives!
