Soundwise, it's fine, if a bit old-fashioned. I instinctively pronounce it vye-O-la. It makes me think of the instrument and also of the actress Viola Davis.
Unfortunately, "viola" is a conjugation of the Spanish verb violar, "to rape." Therefore, I much prefer Violet.
