I have a friend named Kimber and she's one of my favorite people. Really neat tattoos, sarcastic, propensity to cry over really sweet things, determined, fiercely caring. Her name doesn't get shortened. I like the sound, less of a feminine name ending than Kimberly and it really suits her.

Ugly.

I kind of like Kimberley, Kimber looks like a brand.

I don't like it. I think it's because I've always disliked the sound and style (as I perceive it) of the name Kimberly (along with Courtney - its twin sister, in my mind) and I associate a negative stereotype with it. I don't know where it comes from because the first few Kimberlys I can remember knowing, I liked ok. Anyway Kimber, like Kimberly, sounds phoney-aristocratic-surname, and Kimber sounds excessively chipper ("a dog name"), and also seems dated to me.

The sounds in Kimber seem annoying to me but strangely, the sounds in Kimbra don't. Kimbra sounds like a different name. I think of it as a more reasonable spelling of Kinborough, and a modern version of Cyneburga. Kimbra : Kimber :: Ashlin : Ashley

It seems like a perfect name for a lion cub. I immediately think of lions, probably because of Simba (The Lion King). Also I got the song "timber" (by Kesha) in my head immediately.

It is fine. It does seem a bit unfashionable/past its prime because it's so similar to Kim and Kimberly which are dated. But it has more of a nature feel to it. It might get shortened to Kim by others so if you don't like that I might reconsider. But overall it is fine, not overly exciting and a bit dated but not bad.

I love it tbh though I'd never use it. First heard it on the tv show Jem and the Holograms, Kimber is one of the Holograms lol.

Oddly enough I like it more than Kimberly, which doesn't line up with my usual preferences but there it is.

It seems babyish, somehow. Like a kid named Jeffrey being called Jeffie. I'm not a fan of Kim, but it's a better nn than Kimber. It's even a better full name. Kimberly is so much prettier.

It makes me think of Kimber America, a firearms company.
