[Opinions] Emerson
What do you think of Emerson for a girl?
Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Nope. Nope, nope, nope.
I don't like -son names for girls, at all. I can at least tolerate Alison & Company since it resembles Alice, but I still vastly prefer Alice. (And no, it doesn't suddenly improve when it's spelled "Alisyn".) And I really don't like Madison, either. But both Alison and Madison have been thoroughly adopted as feminine names, at least in the United States, so I just grin and bear it because I'm apparently in the minority.
But Emerson... is masculine. The "Em" beginning might be giving people feminine vibes (Emma, Emily, etc.), but it's not like Emmett stopped existing! Emerson is very masculine in my eyes (and ears), and I'd almost consider using it if it weren't being co-opted for little girls of the new generation.
Yeah, so... that's my stickler, elitist point of view.

I can't remember which book jt was but once read one where the main character was a woman called Emerson and I've loved the name ever since.
Despite the 'son' part I think its more feminine than musculine. It has a soft sounds it and it's a lot more original than the name Allison!

I don't like -son names used for girls, save Alison.
I actually think it's kinda cute! Not cute enough for me to use, but cute.
Don't like it for a girl
Aboslutley awful on girls like all -son names (with the exception of Allison and its variants).
