[Opinions] Re: Vladimir, Valdemar and Volmar
in reply to a message by Ylva
Strangely enough, I'm a Harry Potter fan, and these names didn't remind me of Voldemort at all, until I saw what other people said.Vladimir made me think of the name Vlad, which I associate with the inspiration for Dracula (not a very good association for a name). I like the name itself, but that association sort of spoils it for me.Valdemar is the name of a country in one of Mercedes Lackey's fantasy series. It is the main country the series is set in, and, though it has a nice sound, the association is too strong for me to think of it as a person's name.Volmar is not my style, but I don't have strong feelings about it one way or another.
