[Opinions] Arachne
Does anyone else appreciate this name? I’m totally enchanted by it. I love spiders—I’ve always regarded them as gentle protectors (unless, of course, they’re venomous and provoked)—and the name has an aura of ancient sagacity that appeals to me. I also love that the name is feminine but could pass as genderless.

I want to like:
Arachne Olive -- Olive should go well with Greek mythology names but I don't think the connotations work right. (also olive is Athena's tree and she's the one who turned Arachne into a spider... that's not really the part that bothers me though, it's because the name Olive strikes me as a trendy young girl name)
Arachne Bella -- Similar, it should work but Bella sounds too popular
Arachne Pearl -- This one's growing on me the more I look at it. Pearl seemed to girly at first but I actually like the subtly magical deep-sea vibe of it. Plus there's the kid from The Scarlet Letter which is a good association for me (although a lot of people hated that book :P)
And:
Arachne Morgan
Arachne Morgana

Yeah, I've always liked it - and I like the mythical Arachne, although her story is morbid.
I'm somewhat sympathetic towards and awed by spiders, but I also can see why many people think of them as pests, which would be enough to prevent me from using Arachne: the arachnid connection is too commonly despised and obvious. It'd be cool to meet an Arachne who liked her name, though.
These are my fav 5 combos
Arachne Josephine
Arachne Primrose
Arachne Ruth
Arachne Emma
Arachne Winifred
Also, I thought of
Arachne Sharmila
Arachne Delilah
Arachne Gwendolen
Arachne Delora
Arachne Meliora
Arachne Dalia
Arachne Moira
Arachne Aminata
Arachne Catherine
Arachne Talya
Arachne Miriam
Arachne Remedios
Arachne Soledad
Arachne Edwige
Arachne Fidelma
Arachne Fidelia
Arachne Joyce

I'm also starting to love it, I think it was you who introduced it to me, so thanks for that ;)
I like the Greek pronunciation, it has a commanding presence to it. I'm not fond of the meaning though, not because I have anything against spiders, but it's just too literal and that's all people will think about when they hear it.
