[Opinions] Unusual Early American Names
I was reading about my family history and I wanted to share some of the names I noted from early America that were more unusual. By unusual I mean names we don't hear often today or seem unusual for the time period. From what I gather, family surnames and early American place names were popular amongst the family. Sorry if there are some duplicates. Janus

"Early America" is way too broad a concept. Just what time period are you referring to?Some of the names above (Alonzo, Nelson, Orlando, Clarinda, Luther, Alvira, and Clarence, for example) were generally common in early 19th century America. On the other hand, Forlonzo and Deranzel (if they aren't mistakes due to trying to read bad handwriting in old records) would be nearly unique inventions.

Most of these aren’t really usable nowadays, but I kind of like Lovisa, Lauren’s, Francelia and Ulissa.
